By Invitation Only: 48 Hour Shoot Out16JAN07Never satisfied to rest on their laurels, the Silver Oaks filmmaking team has been at it again. On the heels of their “Best of City” win in this summer’s 48 Hour Film Festival, the team was invited to participate in the organization’s latest event, the 48 Hour Fall Shoot Out, November 3rd and 4th. The Shoot Out is an invitational event, open only to Best-of-City winners. Much like the original 48 Hour project, the team was given a genre, character, required prop, line of dialogue and 48 hours to complete a short film. Sponsored this year by the Samuel Adams Company, each team was also sent a different variety of Samuel Adams beer in advance, and was encouraged to incorporate the product into their film. The Silver Oaks team received The Samuel Adams holiday beer, called “Old Fezzywig,” then drew the “science fiction” genre. A mandatory prop (extension cord) as well as a line of dialogue (“good luck with that”) was required. Challenged to combine these diverse ideas into one film, the creative team wrote and produced their entry, “A Cadaver Christmas.” Fans of the team’s award-winning “Man Eating Dumpster” feature will recognize the Silver Oaks style and even some familiar faces. “A Cadaver Christmas” can also be seen at the 48 Hour Film Project’s video website; www.48.tv. Winners of the Shoot Out will be announced soon! [ send this page to a friend! click here ] |
