Silver Oaks Inducted into John Deere’s Supplier Hall of Fame05APR04Silver Oaks Communications, Moline, was inducted into John Deere’s prestigious supplier Hall of Fame at Deere’s Achieving Excellence Awards Banquet on February 17. The award recognizes Silver Oaks’ outstanding supplier performance and status as a Deere partner from 1999 to 2003. Mike Triplett, vice president of Supply Management at Deere, presented the award to Greg Scott, Silver Oaks president. Silver Oaks’ most recent project with John Deere was the Farm-in-the-Zoo interactive farm exhibit sponsored by Deere at Chicago’s Lincoln Park Zoo. Silver Oaks was the interpretives designer for the 2-year project, and was responsible for over 14 educational interpretives that teach visitors about agriculture and animals through a combination of touch screen interactives and live demonstrations. According to Scott, Silver Oaks’ relationship with John Deere touches many different divisions within the company—from animated training DVDs for Deere’s Human Resources Department, to marketing CD-ROMs, to educational kiosks for the John Deere Commons Pavilion. “We are proud to be a John Deere Partner and especially honored to be inducted into their Hall of Fame. We look forward to a long, successful partnership with a company that defines not only agriculture in the Midwest, but corporate excellence.” Silver Oaks, in its 21st year of business in the communications industry, is nationally recognized for creativity and technical excellence in print, video, interpretive displays and Web design services.
