Silver Oaks opened for business on June 1, 1983, in Rock Island, Illinois, offering innovative video production and graphic design services to businesses and organizations throughout the Midwest. From the beginning, we have been committed to providing the most current creative work in the industry. Silver Oaks was the first in the Quad Cities to offer one-inch computerized video editing. Less than a year after opening, we began expanding our services by forming a multimedia slide department and creating state-of-the-art special effects for print and slide presentations using the Oxberry 35mm computerized camera. Computer-generated 3D animation was added in 1988. In addition, Silver Oaks purchased a recording studio to complement the fast-growing video department. We moved into our current facility at 824 17th Street in Moline, Illinois, in July of 1990. The following year Silver Oaks expanded services with the addition of a photography studio and prepress department – the first totally electronic PostScript imaging center in the area. Silver Oaks interactive department was created in 1993. Combining the talent and expertise from all media departments, interactive presentations offered new and exciting communication opportunities to our clients. Non-linear video editing suites expanded our video services in 1994 and, in 1997, our recording studio added digital audio editing capabilities. In Moline, Silver Oaks interactive department increased its communication services with web site development and hosting. The Silver Oaks printing department opened in a newly constructed building in the summer of 1998. With two Heidelberg presses housed next to our main building, we can control the quality of print production from design to delivery. An affiliate of Silver Oaks Communications, Silver Oaks Publishing incorporated in 1998 and opened an office in Reno, Nevada, in 1999. The series, Silver Spurs and Cowboys™, debuted at the Festival of the West in Arizona in the spring of 1999. The product series, including three leather-bound books, a double-set interactive CD-ROM package and screen savers, is available in stores and from the Silver Spurs and Cowboys web site. From the first day of business we have demonstrated a commitment to our clients to provide the most current communication opportunities in design and technology. Our complete communications production facility, with integrated services and departments, continues this strong tradition. We look forward to new creative services that we will provide to our clients in the future. |
