“It’s absolutely an intense, exciting experience,” said Joe Horrigan, Pro Football Hall of Fame’s vice president, about the new Lamar Hunt Super Bowl Gallery. When the 4,000-square-foot exhibit opened on August 8th, as part of their 2009 Induction Ceremony, it featured seven computer-based touchscreen interactives designed and developed by Silver Oaks Communications. Silver Oaks partnered with 1220 Exhibits, Nashville, Tenn., and Gallagher & Associates, Bethesda, Md., for this project. Senior Designer/Associate Tamar King, of Gallagher & Associates said, “We were very pleased with the interactives and how they worked so well with the overall concepts.”
The Super Bowl Gallery offers a decade-by-decade look at each Super Bowl – the teams, winning coaches and MVPs. At each of the “Decades” kiosk stations, a user-friendly interface allows visitors to search each Super Bowl by season, Super Bowl number or by team. Menu choices include Game Overview, Video Highlights, Game Photos, Starting Lineup, Game Stats and In Their Own Words, where visitors can watch up-close and personal video of players like Peyton Manning sharing what their Super Bowl experience meant to them.
In the Celebration of Victory area, “Coaches” and “MVPs” kiosk stations highlight winning achievements through game summaries, videos and photos. Both coaches and MVPs can be searched by name, season, team or Super Bowl.
The Gallery of Super Bowl Rings spotlights every Super Bowl championship ring in a dramatically lit display. This beautiful showcase is complemented by the “Design Your Own Ring” interactive which lets visitors custom design their very own Super Bowl ring, just like Super Bowl champs. The touchscreen interface includes choices for precious metals, ring shapes, background color, team logo, year and sparkling diamonds. Each visitor’s ring design is displayed in the ring gallery.
Jason Cherry, Project Manager, said “The interactives were a hit with everyone, especially the “Design Your Own Ring” – [it] grabbed everyone’s attention.”
