Puget Sound Navy Museum in Bremerton, Wash., recently opened its new USS John C. Stennis exhibit. Allowing friends and family members of service men and women to share in the experience of life aboard a massive aircraft carrier, the exhibit provides a behind-the-scenes view of life at sea. Visitors get a glimpse of everything from the mess hall to the flight deck to the crew quarters – seeing how this 100,000-ton ship truly is a floating city, complete with its own ZIP code.

The fourth annual Silver Oaks Halloween event was a frightening combination of pumpkin carving, cookie baking and ghoulish costumes. Tables of treats and creative pumpkins were displayed in the lobby while costumed employees carried on with business as usual. This year's event is the first feature on our new Excess Creative Energy gallery. Here we will be spotlighting the creative minds at Silver Oaks. Each month we'll feature profiles and projects – from original videos to paintings to gardens to photography. Yet another way to feel the energy of our creative spirit!

Silver Oaks Unwraps Mummy Secrets at the Putnam Museum

Mummies and more are on display once again at the Putnam Museum in Davenport, Iowa. The museum recently completed a $50,000 renovation of their permanent Egyptian exhibit, involving two years of research and several weeks of construction. The completely redesigned “Unearthing Ancient Egypt” gallery which opened August 22, 2009 now blends the ancient world with modern technology.

“It’s absolutely an intense, exciting experience,” said Joe Horrigan, Pro Football Hall of Fame’s vice president, about the new Lamar Hunt Super Bowl Gallery. When the 4,000-square-foot exhibit opened on August 8th, as part of their 2009 Induction Ceremony, it featured seven computer-based touchscreen interactives designed and developed by Silver Oaks Communications. Silver Oaks partnered with 1220 Exhibits, Nashville, Tenn., and Gallagher & Associates, Bethesda, Md., for this project. Senior Designer/Associate Tamar King, of Gallagher & Associates said, “We were very pleased with the interactives and how they worked so well with the overall concepts.”
