Project Description

For the Cabrillo Marine Aquarium in San Pedro, California, Silver Oaks created “We All Live in a Watershed,” a computer-based touchscreen interactive. The program allows visitors to enter their LA County ZIP code to see which watershed they live in, what makes it unique and the respective path of water flow to the ocean. 3D animation techniques simulate rippling water as images “float” across during the attract loop. Once the screen is touched, the water “drains” off and the map comes to the surface, allowing the user to then enter his or her ZIP code. The touchscreen program was deemed such a success, an online version was also created.
