“Plants: The Roots of Life” Interactive

Project Description

Silver Oaks developed an educational, computer-based interpretive for the Dillon Nature Center, located in Hutchinson, Kansas. “Plants: The Roots of Life” explores plants native to Kansas and the roles they play in our ecosystem. On a touchscreen monitor, visitors can test their knowledge about pollination, playing a matching game where they select a pollinator and then the type of plant that it would most likely be attracted to. They can also view a series of animations to illustrate the complex process of photosynthesis, and learn about the natural history and many historical uses of native Kansas plants.
