Project Description

Silver Oaks had the opportunity to join the team responsible for bringing the Kansas City Chiefs’ legacy alive in the new Arrowhead Stadium Hall of Honor. Working closely with the exhibit design firm, Silver Oaks produced three computer-based touchscreen interactives that are rich in both content and graphics.

“30 Greatest Games/60 Greatest Plays” celebrates the Chiefs greatest moments from the past five decades. Fans can sort through the greatest games and the greatest plays by viewing the results filtered by season, opponent, player or fan ranking. Once a game or play is selected, the video clip is set up by detailing the situation, and then the aftermath is explained after the video. Fans can then rank the play/game and read the next day’s review in the newspaper. The program plays at two stations, one of which defaults to the Greatest Games and the other defaults to the Greatest Plays.

“A Season to Remember” commemorates the Chiefs 1969 season which brought 14 wins, 8 future Hall of Famers and was truly a season to remember for their fans. Fans are able review the memorable season one week at a time, reading a recap of the game and reviewing radio and video highlights, as well as reading the next day’s news. Fans can review the season at one of two stations, searching from either the regular season or the post season.

“History of the AFL” chronicles the events and teams that made up the AFL, recounting how Lamar Hunt’s vision and determination lead to the creation of a new football league and the successes of its 10 teams in the 1960s. Fans can scroll through a timeline of dates of the league’s early, middle and Super Bowl years, or they can review a season-by-season rundown of the 10 teams – including respective video highlights, list of All-Time Team members and team logo history. Fans can also see the AFL All-Time Team as a whole and review the stats of its 25 honorees.
