Project Description

Killens Pond State Park, located in Felton, Delaware, is not only home to a 66-acre millpond but also a healthy variety of herps (reptiles and amphibians). Silver Oaks worked closely with an exhibit design firm to produce an interactive touchscreen field guide. By answering a series of questions regarding appearance, visitors are able to identify what lizard, frog, snake or turtle they may have encountered when exploring the Park. Final results show a photo and explain where the respective herp can be found, when it’s active and its survival strategies. Visitors can also choose to browse through the 85 featured herps and learn about them by selecting from their photos. The interactive’s bold graphics and vivid imagery are showcased on a 32″ touchscreen.
