Putnam Museum Ambient Soundscapes
Project Description
Over the years, Silver Oaks has worked with the Putnam to enhance the visitor experience in the “Black Earth/Big River” exhibit through natural ambient sounds such as birds, insects and rippling water. Placing these sounds so that they occur in the distance, or right next to you, takes the special talent of an experienced audio engineer. In addition, we wrote and recorded a series of audio dialogs that describe the impact and role that the river plays in several characters’ lives, helping visitors gain a better understanding of life along the Mississippi River in the 1800s.
