Silver Oaks Holiday Production Rebroadcast On PBS Digital21DEC05“Magnificent…outstanding…inspirational…wonderful…” a PBS viewer from New York describes “Sing We Now of Christmas!” “Sing We Now of Christmas!” an acclaimed choir concert by First Presbyterian Church, Davenport, Iowa, will be rebroadcast on WQPT and other public television stations across the country this week. The program, produced by Silver Oaks, was recorded live in high-definition in 2003, using 5 HD cameras. (HD uses digital technology to record more data and a wider-screen format to provide a clear, more striking picture than standard television broadcasts.) “Technically, Silver Oaks put us on a level playing field with the very best of the musical productions that the United States has to offer,” said Steve Jobman, minister of music at First Presbyterian. “We were on the same stage with a program called ‘Kennedy Center Holiday for the Troops,’ the Mormon Tabernacle Choir and ‘A Chris Isaak Christmas,’” all of which were being offered to PBS stations along with the First Presbyterian choir’s performance. “Sing We Now of Christmas!” won Silver Oaks a Telly Award, a national award that applauds the best work of advertising agencies, production companies and television stations. Don’t miss this joyous holiday concert--in high-definition! Local listings include: Quad Cities Public Television, WQPT UHF Channel 24 or Cable Channel 10 Friday, December 23 at 9:00 p.m. and Sunday, December 25 at 4:30 p.m. Iowa Public Television (Statewide) IPTV UHF Channel 12 or Cable Channel 12 Thursday, December 22 at 8 p.m. High Definition Network (Nationwide) PBS Expanded Cable Channel 710, Antenna 24.2 Saturday, December 24 at 10 a.m. and Sunday, December 25 at 2 p.m. Responses to “Sing We Now of Christmas!” from PBS viewers from everywhere!
